The German navy imperial U-boat badge was awarded to German submariners during World War I. It was worn pinned to the left breast pocket of the uniform. Our reproduction has a gilt finish. It depicts a submarine surrounded by a wreath, surmounted by the imperial crown. The reverse has a simple pin-back
