Imperial German Army Air Gunner badge was awarded to World War I German air crew who operated machine guns. It was worn pinned to the left breast pocket of the uniform. Our reproduction is a “cut-out” design made of nickel. It shows an eagle with outstretched wings atop a target of concentric circles, surrounded by a wreath composed of oak leaves on the right and laurel leaves on the left and surmounted by the imperial crown. The reverse has a simple pin-back.
